The Irish Times

yesterday evening i went to sarah's house to celebrate her violin exam results. she handed me the irish times:
"Body of the fin whale lying stranded on a sandbank in Courtmacsherry Bay, in west Cork yesterday. Despite rescue attempts by the local lifeboat service and concerned nature lovers, the whale was confirmed dead shortly before noon. His 20m-long 15-tonne body was emaciated and scarred and it appeared he may have been struck by a vessel."
